Gallery 2 Horace E. Potter

 

Creamer and sugar set, round bodies on spreading round feet.  High flat-top strap handles rise perpendicularly from the top edge and then loop away, reminiscent of Ashbee.  Handles are pierced and chased with flower, leaf, and vine decoration on top.  Applied wire to rims.  Heavily hammered.  Engraved "OFH" on side.  Early pre-1908 mark.  Creamer:  7-3/8" W and 3-9/16" H.  Sugar: 7" W and 3-5/8" H.  Marked:  H.E. POTTER / STERLING
