CHASING and REPOUSSE -- Albert Wehde was a noted Chicago jeweler and silversmith who "exhibited a large number of jewelry pieces in silver, gold, platinum and steel at the Art Institute of Chicago in its annual Arts & Crafts exhibitions for six years, from 1910 through 1915. In the 1912 exhibition, he was a member of the jury, which suggests he held a place of some prominence in the Chicago Craft community. In 1914 he was awarded one of four prizes for the 'best exhibits of handicrafts by workers in the state of Illinois.'" (from ARK Antiques catalog 92-2). He also taught and wrote books about metalcraft. One from 1924, titled CHASING and REPOUSSÉ, contains how-to information as well as samples of his work, and the tools he used. You can see a salad set he made here.
