▪ Kalo Trophies ▪
Technically, the Kalo Shop produced a large volume of objects that commemorated or celebrated an event and were trophies of a sort. However, most of these were in the form of other usable objects -- plates, bowls, vases, children's dishes and porringers, and trays. But Kalo, like most of the other silversmiths of the day, also made conventional trophy cups that were meant to be given purely as awards for a showcase or bookshelf.
These early trophies (all from the pre-1920 days) exhibit some of the handle forms from the English Arts and Crafts movement. While they're not the finest items produced by the Kalo Shop, they are interesting visually.
