Gallery Kalo

Pitcher, water, lovely paneled form with flat bottom and looping curved square-section hollow handle, hammered surfaces, wide body that tapers upward to a rising spout, applied wire to rim, applied GRH mono. A striking, early example.  Note that the mark says KALO SHOPS rather than KALO SHOP but just CHICAGO rather then CHICAGO AND NEW YORK.  Possibly this mark was used in 1912-1913 when plans were underway to open the NY shop but it was not yet in business.  7-3/16" H and 6-1/2" W.   Signed STERLING / HAND WROUGHT / AT / THE KALO SHOPS / CHICAGO / 9318 / 18 / X
